About the Role
Tech Consulting is looking for a driven Junior Data Analyst to join their team full-time in Oregon, United States. Candidates should be open to relocation anywhere within the U.S. for onsite client engagement. This opportunity is great for professionals with 1 to 4 years of experience who want to deepen their skills in data analytics and business intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and validate data from various sources to ensure reliability.
- Develop, update, and manage reports, dashboards, and visual data representations using analytics software.
- Compose and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze datasets effectively.
- Discover trends and actionable insights that support strategic business decisions.
- Work collaboratively with business units to capture analytics and reporting needs accurately.
- Perform regular data quality assurance to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in automating reporting workflows and processes.
- Document datasets, reports, and analytics procedures clearly for transparency and future reference.
- Communicate analysis results and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Keep abreast of the latest tools, technologies, and best practices in data analytics.
Requirements
- Between 1 and 4 years of practical experience in data analysis or business intelligence roles.
- Proficient in SQL for database querying and data manipulation.
- Skilled in using data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including advanced features like Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
- Understanding of methods for data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and critical reasoning skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using Python or R for data analysis and process automation.
- Knowledge of ETL workflows and data warehousing principles.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Foundational understanding of statistics, forecasting, and predictive analytics.
- Experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum project management methods.
- Ability to create interactive dashboards and key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Master’s degree relevant to the field is a plus but not mandatory.
Additional Information
