Junior Data Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic recent graduates or professionals with up to 2 years of experience to join our Data Science team based in Boston, MA. This contract position offers a remote work set-up, providing a chance to gain hands-on exposure to Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud technologies through real projects and continuous learning support.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare both structured and unstructured data by cleaning and preprocessing.
• Examine large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights relevant for business decisions.
• Design, build, and deploy Machine Learning models to predict outcomes.
• Conduct statistical analyses leveraging programming in Python and SQL.
• Create visual reports and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI for effective data presentation.
• Utilize cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platforms for data operations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Business Analysis, and Software Development.
• Assess model accuracy and tune algorithms for improved performance.
• Document technical aspects and present insights clearly to stakeholders.
• Maintain standards of data quality, security, and proper governance protocols.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and advancements in Data Science and AI fields.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience or foundational knowledge in Data Science or Machine Learning within 0 to 2 years.
• Proficient in Python and SQL programming languages.
• Understanding of statistics and probability principles.
• Acquainted with common Machine Learning techniques and algorithms.
• Hands-on familiarity with libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Experience creating data visualizations through Tableau or Power BI.
• Introductory knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Comfortable with tools like Git, Jupyter Notebook, and Linux operating systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and proficient problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote environment.
