HSE Specialist

Job Overview

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding personnel and the environment by supporting the creation and monitoring of comprehensive HSE programs. This position works directly alongside the HSE Manager to identify risks, establish safety protocols, and promote safe working practices among staff.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing HSE 360° programs and company safety policies.
• Keep HSE documentation current and accurately maintained.
• Conduct safety inspections and hazard evaluations of equipment and facilities.
• Investigate incidents and report any safety violations or concerns.
• Collaborate effectively with various teams to encourage safety improvements.
• Apply strong analytical and critical thinking when addressing safety challenges.
• Utilize knowledge of risk assessment and incident investigation methods.
• Provide administrative aid to the HSE department, including document handling and data entry related to ISO 45001 management systems.
• Plan and coordinate HSE activities such as trainings, audits, inspections, and management reviews, ensuring smooth logistics and adherence to schedules.
• Regularly refresh and update HSE performance metrics and compliance reports.
• Undertake additional related tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least three years of experience as an HSE Specialist or in a similar role.
• Certifications including NEBOSH IGC 1+2, OSHA, IOSH Managing Safely, or ISO 45001 (or equivalent).
• Background knowledge of the manufacturing sector is highly advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Professional demeanor combined with resourcefulness, autonomy, and discretion.
• Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and a focus on completing tasks efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Sound judgment and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English both spoken and written.
