Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble and dismantle proprietary oilfield equipment developed by our company and other manufacturers, strictly following design drawings.
- Conduct pressure tests including hydrostatic and gas testing on choke assemblies, as well as functional tests on actuators, adhering to company protocols.
- Maintain accurate traceability records and testing documentation during the assembly and testing processes.
- Apply torque to nuts, bolts, and cap screws using designated tools, complying with specified procedures and standards.
- Engage in determining the root causes of failures encountered during assembly and testing operations.
- Perform fine metal removal through hand filing, scraping, and grinding to ensure precise fitting of parts.
- Log instrument readings as dictated by testing procedures or company mandates.
- Disassemble equipment to recover salvageable components when necessary.
- Report any inconsistencies or defects in materials promptly to the supervising personnel.
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move parts and machinery safely.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality teams, and other workshop staff to coordinate work effectively.
- Ensure that workspaces and equipment are kept clean, organized, and undergo routine preventive maintenance as required.
- Document essential part information including heat numbers, material grades, part numbers, and work or purchase order numbers.
- Strictly follow all applicable state and federal laws, ISO Quality Program standards, company policies, and safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a diploma in a relevant technical field.
- Have 2 to 3 years of experience in assembly and pressure testing of mechanical equipment.
- Demonstrate general mechanical and assembly knowledge, especially involving rotating equipment.
- Exhibit mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient with impact wrenches, torque devices, various pneumatic and hand tools.
- Experienced in safely operating lifting equipment.
- Capable of comprehending and executing written and oral instructions accurately.
- Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written, related to job functions.
- Flexible and willing to work varying shift patterns and schedules.
- Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for material calculation and fabrication tasks.
