Role Overview
Take charge of one of Higgins' pivotal maintenance contracts, managing an annual programme worth $25–26 million that encompasses a 1,200km road network throughout North Waikato regions including Tuakau, Pokeno, Huntly, and Te Kauwhata. This role offers the chance to steer an established operation entering its potential second year of a decade-long contract, working collaboratively with the Waikato District Council to provide strategic, commercial, and operational leadership aimed at delivering superior outcomes for the community and the network.
Key Duties
- Oversee the delivery, performance, and profitability of the road maintenance contract.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
- Drive commercial success through diligent financial oversight and risk management.
- Lead various teams including Operations, Renewals, and Support to meet objectives.
- Manage governance protocols, reporting responsibilities, and ongoing improvements.
- Promote safety, uphold quality standards, and ensure excellent customer results.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses extensive experience managing large-scale road maintenance contracts.
- Holds relevant certification in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of contract management and asset management principles.
- Exhibits strong commercial insight with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and risk mitigation.
- Has the capacity to establish trusted partnerships with clients, teams, and collaborators.
- Employs a collaborative leadership approach, with effective communication and robust decision-making abilities.
