The Opportunity

Based at the Whangārei Hospital campus, this position involves practical support on minor works projects within a wider regional infrastructure programme. It is well suited to someone who enjoys smaller, quicker-moving initiatives where outcomes can be seen sooner.

Working within a close project team, you will partner with project managers, internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to help plan, coordinate, and deliver projects from start to finish.

The role covers a wide range of delivery activities. You will handle documentation, reporting, and governance tasks while ensuring work stays aligned with scope, deadlines, and budgets. You will also track progress, manage risks and issues, keep project records and systems up to date, and assist with financial monitoring.

What You Will Bring

• Proven background in project coordination, preferably in infrastructure, construction, property, or healthcare settings.
• Strong planning and organisation skills, including the ability to manage schedules, risks, and project documents.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
• The ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Practical experience using MS 365 applications, including Microsoft Project.
• A proactive, cooperative mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in regulated or complex environments will be an advantage.

Additional Information

You should be self-driven, comfortable working in a hands-on way, and a strong team contributor with curiosity and a solution-focused approach.

Although the role is mainly based in Whangārei, occasional travel around the region is required to support projects at satellite locations such as Dargaville, Kerikeri, and Kaitaia.
