Parts Advisor

Role Overview

The Parts Advisor will support both technicians and retail clients in identifying, ordering, and sourcing the correct automotive components. The position demands a blend of technical understanding, superior customer service, and precise attention to detail. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory, executing order processing, and managing returns efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist both retail customers and internal teams in locating the appropriate automotive parts and accessories
• Provide timely parts support to service technicians and the workshop
• Process orders, returns, and replacements accurately via the dealership's inventory system
• Keep current with parts catalogs, pricing structures, inventory levels, and promotional activities
• Maintain proactive communication with suppliers and customers regarding order progress, delivery timelines, or any delays
• Perform regular inventory verifications and assist with stocktaking
• Cultivate strong customer relationships through excellent service and knowledgeable technical advice
• Receive, unpack, and correctly store incoming parts to ensure inventory accuracy
• Ensure the parts department remains organized, clean, and compliant with all safety protocols

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a parts advisor, counter sales, or automotive retail professional in a busy workshop environment
• Comprehensive understanding of automotive parts, vehicle systems, and various makes and models
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office and familiarity with inventory management or dealership systems
• Outstanding communication and customer service abilities
• Strong attention to detail and capability to multitask in a fast-moving setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge and insight into the motor industry
• Experience with electronic parts catalogs and ordering platforms
• Possession of a full driving license

Benefits and Work Conditions

• Full-time employment Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, with one Saturday every four weeks from 8am to 1pm
• Annual basic salary of £32,590 over a 46.25 week period plus an annual bonus of up to 15%

Work Location

This role is based at Porsche Centre Hatfield, located near Hatfield Business Park and close to retail areas including The Galleria and Oldings Corner Retail Park. The facility provides free parking and newly upgraded communal zones featuring amenities like a pool table, darts board, and television.
