Role Summary

The Lead Data Engineer, reporting to the Head of Data Platforms and Engineering, will be a pivotal member of the Data Engineering team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining dependable and high-quality data pipelines and infrastructure. This hands-on role involves full stack engineering from pipeline development to cloud infrastructure management and ensuring platform reliability and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and uphold data pipelines utilizing Python and orchestration tools like Dagster.
• Deploy and manage AWS data infrastructure including EKS, CDK, and Terraform.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines following GitOps methodologies for data platform delivery.
• Operate within cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, supporting dbt-based data transformation workflows.
• Ensure data quality, testing rigor, and platform reliability.
• Handle critical incidents and resolve production data issues promptly.
• Collaborate across functions with Analytics Engineering, BI, and business teams to translate requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (not mandatory).
• Brings 5+ years of experience in data analytics or data engineering roles.
• Proficient in building data pipelines with Python and orchestrators such as Dagster.
• Experienced in deploying and managing AWS-based data infrastructure including EKS, CDK, and Terraform.
• Skilled in managing CI/CD pipelines and implementing GitOps practices for data platform deployment.
• Familiar with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake and data transformation with dbt.
• Dedicated to maintaining high standards of data quality, testing, and platform dependability.
• Adept at managing high-pressure production incidents with a calm, solution-focused approach.
• Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration and translation of business needs into technical deliverables.
• Committed to mentoring and developing junior team members.
