Job details

• This role is available in both part-time and full-time formats.
• Workdays run from Monday through Friday.
• Several shifts are available.
• Morning shift: 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Mid shift: 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
• Evening shift: 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
• Pay is $12.75 per hour.
• Pay is issued weekly.

Role summary

The janitor is responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of assigned spaces within one building or across multiple client locations. The work may vary based on client needs, so flexibility is important when carrying out assigned tasks and following site-specific instructions.

Responsibilities

• Keep floors in clean condition by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment correctly to avoid damage to flooring and other surfaces.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entry areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash properly, including use of a compactor for certain materials.
• Wash windows, mirrors, and glass dividers with the proper tools and cleaning products.
• Remove spots from carpets and assist with carpet shampooing and extraction work.
• Restock tissue, paper goods, and other sanitary supplies.
• Follow the assigned housekeeping schedule.
• Operate heavier cleaning tools such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers when required.
• Complete additional tasks that fit the scope of work or customer requirements.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, or at least 6 months of experience in janitorial work.
• Training will be provided on the job.
• Strong attention to detail is needed.
• You should be able to understand and follow instructions well.

Preferred background

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work.
• Exposure to custodial procedures and commercial cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of floor care methods such as buffing and waxing.
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance.
