Handyworker

Role Overview

As a Handyworker at Bridgepoint Maintenance, you will address a wide range of residential maintenance needs that keep homes safe, functional, and comfortable for residents. Tasks include everything from lock replacements to faucet repairs and property inspections before other trades arrive.

Daily Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance and repair work in residential properties
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance visits
• Replace HVAC filters and manage lockbox installations/removals
• Repair doors, locks, cabinets, shelving, blinds, and hardware
• Fix toilets, faucets, light fixtures, smoke detectors, and similar household fixtures
• Carry out minor drywall repairs, caulking, patching, and surface touch-ups
• Assemble and install furniture when requested
• Document work with clear before-and-after photos
• Complete digital inspection reports and update work orders
• Identify maintenance issues that require specialized trades or additional repairs
• Travel independently between appointments using your own vehicle

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 2 years' paid experience in handyman, renovation, construction, or property maintenance roles
• Capability to independently complete typical residential maintenance tasks
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
• Professional communication skills with customers and operations teams
• Good judgment to escalate tasks requiring licensed tradespeople

Additional Requirements

• Possession of a reliable personal vehicle for site visits
• Ownership of tools and equipment suitable for residential maintenance
• Smartphone with GPS, mobile apps capability, photography, and reporting functions
• Basic proficiency in English communication
• Dependable attendance and well-organized work habits

Advantageous Experience

• Background in residential property maintenance or handyman services
• Participation in renovation and repair projects
• Familiarity with property inspections and lockbox installation
• Experience working in both occupied and vacant residential properties
