About the Role

At Bridgepoint Maintenance, the Handyworker plays a crucial role in ensuring that residential properties remain safe, operational, and prepared for occupants. Each service call varies significantly, with tasks ranging from lock replacement to faucet repairs, shelving installation, smoke detector replacement, and property inspections. Daily Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks within residential properties.
  • Conduct property inspections and carry out preventative maintenance visits.
  • Replace HVAC filters as needed.
  • Install and remove lockboxes efficiently.
  • Repair doors, locks, cabinets, shelves, blinds, and hardware components.
  • Fix toilets, faucets, light fixtures, smoke detectors, and other common household items.
  • Manage minor drywall repairs, including caulking, patching, and touch-up painting.
  • Assemble and install furniture when required.
  • Document work with clear photographs before and after completion.
  • Submit detailed digital inspection reports and update work orders timely.
  • Identify maintenance issues that require specialized trades or further repairs.
  • Travel directly between appointments using a personal vehicle.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in handyman services, renovations, construction, property maintenance, or similar fields.
  • Ability to independently perform common residential maintenance tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with clients and operational teams.
  • Awareness of when to refer tasks to certified tradespeople.
  • Ownership of a reliable vehicle and suitable tools for residential maintenance work.
  • Possession of a smartphone with GPS, capable of using mobile work applications, capturing photographs, and submitting updates.
  • Basic proficiency in English for communication purposes.
  • Consistent availability and good organizational skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in residential property maintenance or handyman services.
  • Experience with renovation and repair projects.
  • Competence in conducting property inspections and installing lockboxes.
  • Exposure to preventative maintenance practices.
  • Working in both occupied and vacant residential environments.
