Role Overview
This role focuses on developing embedded software for advanced Battery Management System (BMS) products. The Embedded Systems Engineer will engage directly with customers and internal teams to deliver robust firmware, ensure hardware compatibility, and support algorithm integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and test real-time embedded firmware using Embedded C tailored for BMS controllers.
- Design and develop low-level drivers and interfaces utilizing I²C, SPI, and CAN communication protocols.
- Employ Python scripting for automation of testing and system validation procedures.
- Collaborate with hardware teams using PCB schematics for hardware validation and troubleshooting.
- Assist in validating battery state algorithms, including State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH).
- Engage with customers to aid system integration, resolve technical issues, and optimize performance.
- Produce deliverables such as demonstration units, validation documentation, and technical transfer packages.
- Conduct laboratory validation activities using instruments like oscilloscopes, amplifiers, and function generators.
- Document technical processes and contribute to creating reference designs and reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
- Between four and eight years' experience in embedded firmware and system-level software development.
- Expertise in Embedded C programming and microcontroller-level firmware design.
- Proficient use of Python for scripting, automated testing, and validation tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of embedded communication protocols such as I²C, SPI, and CAN.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, amplifiers, and function generators.
- Competency in reading and interpreting PCB schematic diagrams and hardware components.
- Strong analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and customer-oriented communication.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with battery management systems or power electronics.
- Experience with battery state estimation algorithms and diagnostics.
- Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and algorithm development is advantageous.
- Understanding of AUTOSAR architectures and standards.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Experience with automotive-grade tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, and INCA.
