Role Overview
The Deli Chef / Cook will ensure smooth and effective functioning of the food production area at all times, delivering excellent quality food products that satisfy customers.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 2 years practical experience specializing in fresh food preparation and handling.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Comprehensive training and experience in HACCP standards and food safety compliance.
- Familiarity with stocktaking procedures.
- Genuine passion for the food industry combined with creativity and innovation in fresh food offerings.
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and ability to cultivate a loyal clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Embody and promote Centra's core brand values including pride, energy, imagination, and community engagement.
- Prepare, cook, and present food items consistently throughout the day to high standards.
- Ensure all customer orders are completed flawlessly.
- Support efficient food production workflows and operations.
- Conduct stocktaking activities and assist in calculating product cost pricing and portion control.
- Contribute to the onboarding, training, and development of new and existing kitchen staff.
- Participate actively in any training or professional development initiatives as directed by store management.
