About Jurong Port
Jurong Port specialises in multipurpose port operations, efficiently managing general, bulk, and containerized cargo. It oversees the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre and lighter terminals at Penjuru and Marina South, with additional joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port's local and international terminals handled nearly 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, along with 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.
Role Overview
This opportunity suits motivated fresh graduates or early-career professionals eager to build a career in project management and digital transformation. You will support Jurong Port's business and digital initiatives by collaborating with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to coordinate projects, monitor timelines, manage documentation, and assist through every phase of project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and managing projects throughout their life cycle, including requirements collection, implementation, and post-delivery analysis.
- Keep updated records including project schedules, action items, risk logs, status reports, and related documentation.
- Coordinate efforts between internal departments, users, and external suppliers to meet milestone deadlines.
- Monitor progress, ensure follow-through on tasks, and escalate issues when warranted.
- Prepare project documentation such as plans, meeting agendas, governance reports, and executive summaries.
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders by documenting and sharing key updates, decisions, and timelines clearly.
- Assist with coordination of critical phases such as requirements gathering, testing, UAT, deployment, and knowledge transfer.
- Support budget tracking, effort estimation, and monitoring project expenditures when required.
- Collaborate with project leads to identify and implement process enhancements for better delivery impact.
- Ensure project documentation and handover materials comply with organizational standards and SDLC processes.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and steering committee sessions; record decisions and actions.
- Contribute to Agile or Scrum methodology adoption, including task monitoring and team coordination, where applicable.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Prior internship, academic projects, or co-curricular involvement related to project management, business analysis, product management, technology, or software roll-outs is advantageous.
- Strong organisational and coordination capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of project management frameworks, SDLC methodologies, Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Experience or familiarity with digital products, enterprise-level systems, or software implementation projects is a plus.
- Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or project management would be beneficial.
