Position Overview

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for orchestrating the supply chain processes that convert Humble's autonomous vehicle designs into tangible, deployable products. This position oversees sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and materials planning for mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts integral to vehicles and charging systems. The role also involves managing commercial relationships with strategic suppliers, including negotiation of pricing, terms, and long-term partnerships.

Acting at the nexus of engineering, operations, and manufacturing, the Supply Chain Manager guarantees on-time delivery, cost management, and quality standards across all product development phases, from prototype to production scale-up. This position demands proactive, hands-on involvement suitable for individuals who thrive in fast-paced hardware startup environments, developing scalable processes while ensuring present-day production remains uninterrupted.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end supply chain planning and execution for vehicle, autonomous tech, and charging hardware, including sourcing through final delivery.
• Manage purchasing of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, balancing cost efficiency, quality, and supplier lead times.
• Identify, evaluate, and oversee suppliers and contract manufacturers; conduct commercial negotiations regarding costs, terms, and long-term supply commitments.
• Coordinate materials planning, inventory management, and logistics in collaboration with operations; proactively address supply risks and shortages to maintain production schedules.
• Work closely with engineering teams to promote design-for-supply-chain principles, manage long-lead items, assist part selection, and enable second sourcing.
• Monitor and report key metrics such as on-time delivery performance, costs, inventory levels, and supplier quality; lead supplier performance assessments and improvement initiatives.
• Establish scalable procurement procedures, tools, and workflows suitable for a growth-phase hardware company.
• Ensure adherence to trade, customs, and regulatory compliance throughout the supply base.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management involving hardware or manufactured products.
• Proven capability in sourcing and managing suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts.
• Strong knowledge of bills of materials (BOMs), materials planning, lead times, and balancing cost-quality trade-offs.
• Experience in negotiating supplier pricing, terms, and supply contracts.
• Familiarity with supply chain planning software tools.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills, particularly with engineering and operations teams.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude with comfort making decisions amid uncertainty and deadlines.
• Authorization to work legally in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in automotive, electric vehicle, robotics, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing industries.
• Experience scaling supply chains from prototype stages through production ramp-up.
• Knowledge of vehicle components, powertrain, battery, or charging system supply chains.
• Exposure to contract manufacturing and international sourcing practices.
• Expertise in design-for-manufacturing and design-for-supply-chain collaboration.
• Understanding of trade compliance, customs regulations, and import/export controls.
• Experience working in startup or early-stage hardware environments.

Compensation

This position offers a base salary complemented by benefits and equity participation. Salary ranges vary by role, experience, and location, with individual pay determined after considering qualifications and skills.
