Sterilization Technician / CSSD Technician

Overview

The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role within the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), responsible for the preparation and handling of surgical instruments and medical devices to ensure optimal patient safety.

Core Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols.
• Operate and oversee sterilization machinery, continuously monitoring procedures to guarantee the sterility and quality of supplies.
• Keep detailed records including sterilization logs, equipment maintenance, and inventory status.
• Adhere strictly to infection control guidelines, patient safety requirements, and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in CSSD or Sterile Processing related field.
• Possession of a current valid SCFHS professional license and registration.
• Experience range of zero to three years in sterile processing, CSSD, or healthcare settings; prior hospital experience is advantageous.
