Role Overview
The University of Business & Technology in Jeddah seeks a skilled Software Engineer and System Administrator specializing in Blackboard LMS. This role involves the development, customization, and maintenance of the Blackboard Learning Management System as well as its integrations with various enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, customize, and administer the Blackboard LMS platform and associated applications.
- Create and support API and web service integrations linking Blackboard with enterprise tools.
- Develop and maintain bespoke applications, plugins, and automation utilities for LMS enhancement.
- Facilitate seamless integration with systems including Student Information Systems (SIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resources (HR), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), identity management, and third-party learning platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve technical, system, and integration challenges related to Blackboard LMS.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Professional experience ranging from 3 to 5 years in relevant roles.
- Proven practical expertise with Blackboard LMS, particularly Learn Ultra.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and web services protocols.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
- Knowledgeable in database query languages (SQL) and standards like LTI, SCORM, xAPI, SAML, OAuth, alongside Active Directory management.
