Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Shift Lead is entrusted with opening and closing duties in the absence of store management, including system startups, cash handling, and preparing the sales floor and stockroom for daily operations. This position also manages store key responsibilities such as opening the back door for vendor deliveries and securing the store after hours.
Daily operational responsibilities involve facilitating product returns, processing order voids and customer refunds, handling cash drops and providing register change, and maintaining accurate inventory and pricing across departments. The Shift Lead will assist in training and coaching team members on warehouse procedures, order processing, promotional displays, merchandising resets, and price management to ensure compliance with regulations and accurate store signage.
The role also includes maintaining store cleanliness and order, performing stock rotations and proper food item separation according to store policy, and assisting with exterior and interior maintenance tasks. Keyholder duties include performing bag checks on employees leaving the store and ensuring adherence to company policies. Additionally, the Shift Lead supports pharmacy operations as needed and acts as an intermediary between management and team members during manager absences.

The Shift Lead exemplifies and promotes exemplary customer service standards by warmly greeting customers and patients, proactively offering help, addressing inquiries and concerns to foster positive experiences, and mentoring team members in best practices of customer engagement including interpersonal conduct.
Training and Development
The individual must actively participate in all required training programs and complete prescribed personal performance learning modules to maintain operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of leadership experience in retail, supervisory, or keyholder roles.
- Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking (except in Puerto Rico).
- Knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
- Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
- Must obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by the state.
Additional Information
This role requires compliance with all company policies and fostering respectful relationships with coworkers. The Shift Lead performs other special tasks as assigned and reports disciplinary or customer issues to store management.
