MEP Engineer

Role Overview

This position is for an MEP Engineer with Larsen & Toubro in Qatar. The role focuses on supervising mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works on site, coordinating with project teams, reviewing technical drawings, tracking progress, and supporting safe execution and commissioning.

Site Coordination

You will work closely with civil, architectural, and structural teams to keep MEP activities aligned with the overall project plan. The role requires sequencing work properly so that different trades do not interfere with each other, attending coordination meetings, and clearly passing project requirements to subcontractors. Day-to-day site execution of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and low-current systems must also be monitored.

Drawing and Documentation Review

The job involves checking shop drawings, construction drawings, and MEP layouts against approved design documents. You will be expected to spot design clashes or site-related issues, raise them promptly, and maintain organized records of inspections, progress updates, and site instructions.

Progress Monitoring

Daily and weekly MEP progress must be tracked and compared with the planned schedule. Any delays should be identified early, reported, and followed up with corrective actions. The role also includes supporting the coordination of testing, inspections, approvals, and handover milestones.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

Site safety is a key part of the position. You will need to ensure that site rules and safety procedures are followed, confirm that workers use the correct PPE, encourage safe working methods, and quickly report or address any hazards observed on site.

Material and Resource Management

The role requires oversight of material deliveries and storage, along with coordination of manpower, tools, and equipment. You must make sure required materials are available before activities begin so work can proceed without avoidable interruptions.

Testing, Commissioning, and Handover Support

You will assist in system testing, inspection coordination, and final approvals. Support is also needed for troubleshooting installation issues and helping with commissioning and handover activities.

Client and Consultant Coordination

This position includes regular communication with clients, consultants, and project managers on MEP-related matters. You will participate in inspections, work toward obtaining approvals, and respond to comments raised during review or inspection cycles.
