About the Role

The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Ministries Corporation is seeking a Human Resources Administrative Assistant to join their team. This role provides essential support in benefits management, compliance, data handling, and recruitment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to employees, applicants, and visitors
  • Support daily HR administrative tasks including upkeep of employee records and documents
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new employees
  • Address employee inquiries and guide them to appropriate HR personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling employee information
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and employment laws
  • Contribute to recruitment, benefits administration, and various HR projects as required
  • Manage HR record-keeping, filing, and data entry within the HRIS system
  • Perform password resets and resolve basic employee account issues
  • Provide reception coverage by greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and directing inquiries
  • Review and submit invoices for payment processing
  • Carry out other assigned duties as needed

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • At least one year of experience in administrative, HR, or office support roles

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods seated at a desk working on a computer
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone
  • Effective communication in person, over the phone, and by email
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and moving around the office and campus
  • Ability to read printed materials and screens
  • Manual dexterity for operating office equipment
  • Capability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Capacity to concentrate for prolonged durations and handle detailed tasks
