About the Role

Join the Royal York Property Management team in Durham, Ontario, as a Handyworker, where you'll apply your maintenance expertise to support property upkeep and management. This position involves handling diverse maintenance duties and service calls, ensuring efficient execution of work orders and high-quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily maintenance tasks and oversee timely completion of work orders.
• Perform initial inspections, document findings with photographs, and upload them to support work orders.
• Deliver and install company-specific equipment including fire extinguishers, lock boxes, and real estate signage.
• Create new work orders when necessary and provide thorough assessments to the Maintenance Department.
• Execute varied maintenance activities such as copying keys, installing door closers, changing locks, mounting TVs, among other tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or an equivalent certification.
• Have a minimum of five years of experience in maintenance or handywork roles.
• Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle with the capability to transport plywood sized at least 4'x4'.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
• Operate well both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Own an iPhone to facilitate job-related communication.
• Maintain attention to detail and possess strong problem-solving skills.
