Job Summary

We are looking for a proficient and driven Quantity Surveyor specializing in estimation and proposal preparation. This remote role involves creating precise and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects, working from initial inquiries through to tender submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses for diverse construction projects.
• Oversee the tender process by reviewing documents and submitting competitive bids.
• Develop comprehensive proposals that emphasize the company's strengths and unique value propositions.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs using architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Gather and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct risk assessments and devise strategies to mitigate identified project risks.
• Maintain a database of historical project costs to support future estimating efforts.
• Communicate clearly with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to define project requirements and present proposals.
• Apply value engineering principles to optimize costs while maintaining quality and design integrity.
• Generate and deliver detailed reports on estimates, tenders, and proposals to senior management.
• Keep updated on market trends, material pricing, and construction technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of two years' experience focusing on estimation and proposal activities within the construction industry.
• Proficiency with estimation software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or CostX.
• Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, UK building codes, contract law, and tender procedures.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and precision.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Capable of working well independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Familiarity with AI tools beneficial for this role.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range between 100000 and 200000 Nigerian Naira monthly, depending on experience.
