Role Overview

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician positioned within the cleanroom class 10 wafer fabrication area, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment. This position requires participation in tool repair, troubleshooting, and development projects across various advanced semiconductor manufacturing toolsets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support both scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair of manufacturing tools.
  • Contribute to root cause analyses and component-level fault diagnosis.
  • Participate in ongoing tool development and enhancement initiatives.
  • Lead or assist in improvement projects independently or as part of a team.
  • Work hands-on under the guidance of a coach or mentor to investigate and resolve hardware issues.
  • Deliver presentations on completed tasks, learnings, and improvement recommendations.
  • Utilize technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and instructions to perform tasks with various test equipment.
  • Effectively communicate technical issues and solutions both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborate within a diverse team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Operate with minimal supervision while adapting flexibly to shifting priorities.

Tools and Technologies

  • Experience or exposure to high vacuum, pneumatics, electronics, and robotics.
  • Work with a variety of semiconductor fabrication tools such as Applied Material Implanters, Akrion Wet Benches, Aviza Furnaces, TEL Tracks, Nikon Steppers, LAM Etchers, Novellus Deposition Platforms, and Semitool Wet Chemistry Platforms.

Additional Information

This position involves rotating shift work with associated competitive shift premiums. ADI follows a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach, and familiarity with this is advantageous. Applications may be subject to export licensing approval depending on nationality due to access to technical data.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Pursuing or holding NFQ Level 7 (Bachelor’s) or Level 8 (Honours Bachelor’s) degrees; alternatively, a Level 6 technical qualification with relevant experience.
  • Experience: Understanding of regulated environments or prior equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing is preferred; hand tool proficiency is beneficial.
  • Skills: Competence in analytical troubleshooting methods such as Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, and 5-Why technique, alongside First Time Right repair capability.
  • Ability to follow preventative maintenance schedules and standard work procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work on a 5-cycle rotating shift pattern.
