The Engineering Project Coordinator operates within advanced engineering settings, bridging project planning, resource allocation, and systems integration efforts to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily and weekly tasks among various engineering teams involved in plant functions, systems, components, and analytical engineering processes.
  • Create, sustain, and refine detailed engineering schedules to guide technical execution and milestone achievement.
  • Apply project management best practices to oversee project scope, schedule, and costs, and identify deviations from plans promptly.
  • Manage schedule revisions, change requests, and approval workflows in collaboration with project control teams.
  • Decompose high-level engineering activities into granular task plans and execution schedules for design teams.
  • Monitor assignments, resource availability, and workload allocations to assist with resource forecasting.
  • Liaise with resource managers and stakeholders to confirm staffing requirements and address constraints.
  • Evaluate and communicate impacts on schedule and resources stemming from technical changes or evolving requirements.
  • Develop standardized design activity sequences to prepare for upcoming engineering phases, procurement, and integrated analysis.
  • Oversee schedule logic, milestones, and dependencies linking in-house engineering teams and external design groups.
  • Gather status updates from teams and report on progress, risks, and resource challenges to project leadership.
  • Support risk management by maintaining risk registers and organizing periodic risk reviews.
  • Assist in fiscal year planning involving schedules, resources, and engineering budgets.
  • Integrate supplier timelines into the Integrated Master Control Schedule to maintain project alignment.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related technical fields from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum four years of direct project management experience, ideally linked to engineering or technical program coordination.
  • Experience coordinating engineering efforts within the nuclear sector, including systems engineering or nuclear design processes is essential.
  • Proven experience collaborating within multidisciplinary and matrixed team environments.
  • Strong proficiency in managing technical schedules, including development, reporting, sequencing, and forecasting of resources.
  • Familiarity with project management applications like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or comparable tools is required.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian products such as Confluence and JIRA considered an advantage.
  • Possession of PMP certification is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NRC 10CFR50 regulatory licensing procedures is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and complexity management capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to achieving technical excellence.
  • Ability to independently manage cross-functional efforts with minimal supervision.
  • Experience balancing conflicting priorities and resolving disputes between technical goals and project constraints.
  • Strong facilitation, strategic decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Aptitude to translate technical discussions into clear impacts on schedules, resources, and execution plans.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Competitive pay estimated between $58 and $85 per hour.
  • Flexible work arrangement with fully remote option.
  • Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge engineering and reactor technology projects.
  • Exposure to complex multidisciplinary systems integration and project execution.
  • Collaborate with seasoned professionals in engineering, project management, and technical disciplines.
  • Professional development possibilities through involvement in high-profile engineering initiatives.
