Job description

Role Overview

This opportunity entails supporting intricate engineering initiatives by orchestrating multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure projects proceed smoothly and milestones are met. Positioned within an advanced engineering setting, the coordinator acts as a pivotal link bridging project planning, resource allocation, and system integration activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Organize daily and weekly tasks among multiple engineering teams addressing plant-level systems, components, and engineering analyses.
  • Create, update, and refine detailed engineering schedules that align with technical execution and project deadlines.
  • Assist in monitoring project costs, timelines, and scopes by implementing best practices and highlighting deviations.
  • Administer schedule revisions, manage change requests, and facilitate approvals alongside project controls personnel.
  • Decompose broad engineering objectives into detailed task plans and schedules for design groups.
  • Monitor assignments, resource availability, and workload to optimize forecasting and allocation.
  • Collaborate with resource managers and stakeholders to validate staffing requirements and resolve resource constraints.
  • Evaluate and communicate impacts on schedules and resources due to technical modifications or shifting project demands.
  • Establish standardized sequences of design activities to support upcoming engineering phases, procurement, and integrated analysis.
  • Manage dependencies, logic, and milestones across both internal teams and external design partners.
  • Gather progress reports from engineering teams and relay updates on risks, challenges, and resource status to leadership.
  • Support risk management by maintaining risk registers and coordinating regular review sessions.
  • Contribute to fiscal year planning, including schedules, resource management, and budgeting.
  • Integrate supplier timelines into the comprehensive master control schedule to synchronize project tasks.

Qualifications

  • Engineering bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years' direct experience in project management, ideally within engineering or technical programs.
  • Background managing or coordinating engineering functions in the nuclear sector, including systems engineering or nuclear design.
  • Demonstrated capability working with multifaceted and matrixed teams.
  • Expertise in technical schedule management including development, reporting, sequencing, and resource planning.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project; Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA) considered advantageous.
  • PMP certification is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NRC 10CFR50 licensing processes is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and organizational aptitude with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to independently drive cross-functional projects and manage competing priorities.
  • Skilled in facilitation, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Capable of translating technical discussions into impacts on scheduling, resources, and execution strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration ranging approximately from $58 to $85 per hour.
  • Flexible remote work arrangement.
  • Chance to engage in cutting-edge reactor technology and multidisciplinary system integration projects.
  • Collaborative work environment with seasoned engineering and project management professionals.
  • Professional development opportunities through involvement in large-scale, regulated engineering programs.
