About the Role
Primary Talent Partners is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst I on a 12-month contract with possibility of extension to support a prominent power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This role involves working within a 24x7 Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) supporting, maintaining, and developing tools to detect cybersecurity events and incidents. The position requires strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and adherence to procedures set by Cybersecurity leadership and the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT).
Work Schedule
The onboarding period lasts approximately 3-5 months with a 9am-5pm schedule. After onboarding, shifts may vary between 9-5 or 10-6 depending on team needs. The primary requirement is a willingness to work night shifts from 6pm-6am, which could last from 3 months up to 2 years, followed by potential shifts from 6am-6pm.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain, support, and develop cybersecurity tools to track and generate security events and incidents.
- Collaborate with peers, management, and other teams within the CSOC environment operating 24x7.
- Follow established processes and protocols defined by Cybersecurity leadership and the CIRT.
- Monitor security alerts, investigate daily potential threats, perform triage, and correlate activities across multiple security tools to detect suspicious or malicious behaviors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 9 years of relevant professional experience.
- Technology proficient, especially with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing small projects and maintaining organized plans and trackers.
- Familiarity with developer or automation tools is preferred.
- While direct cybersecurity technical experience is beneficial, this is primarily a facilitation role supporting cyber incident response workflows.
Compensation and Additional Details
Hourly pay ranges from $30.00 to $35.00 on a W2 contract basis. This position does not include paid time off or benefits, but an ACA-compliant supplemental insurance package is available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and eligible to be employed on the Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
