Role Overview
The Customer Accounts Manager is pivotal in steering store success by leading the customer accounts department to meet company expectations related to collections and lease renewals. This role involves strategic team leadership to assist customers in achieving ownership goals, alongside various tasks as delegated by the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update customer accounts and records in the store database, including documenting payment appointments.
- Support the General Manager in operational functions such as reviewing account recommendations, payment schedules, and histories to ensure data accuracy.
- Act as second-in-command to the General Manager.
- Cultivate genuine relationships with customers to aid their path to ownership and promote sales.
- Manage the collections process by guiding customers towards timely lease and merchandise renewals.
- Process and finalize lease agreements, verifying identification, securing payments, and obtaining signatures.
- Follow up with customers who have not renewed their merchandise agreements.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers via phone and home visits.
- Ensure precise and current customer information.
- Oversee accounts staff to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental objectives.
- Clean and verify merchandise returned personally at the cleaning station.
- Complete and keep up-to-date vehicle maintenance and route documentation.
- Load, secure, and protect merchandise in company vehicles and operate them safely.
- Provide assistance to the Sales Team as necessary.
- Perform other reasonable tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- In Canada, applicants must be at least 18 years old; in the United States, at least 21, holding a valid state driver's license and meeting the company's driver qualification standards including an acceptable driving record.
- Must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) certification requirements where applicable (U.S. only).
- Availability to work varying shifts between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 300 lbs with a dolly.
- Preferred: Two years of college education or equivalent management experience.
- Preferably possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Energetic with the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively within a store setting.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Commitment to uphold Aaron's brand reputation and safeguard company assets.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Proficient computer literacy.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position ranges from 21 to 23 USD, with additional opportunity for performance-based incentives. Compensation placement within this range will depend on factors including education, qualifications, experience, skills, and performance metrics.
