Job Overview

This position supports the Community Affairs Department's daily functions through professional and technical assistance in planning reviews, zoning enforcement, permitting processes, and community development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep organized, accurate files and records related to planning and zoning matters as directed.
  • Evaluate zoning, land use, and planning proposals for compliance with municipal codes and regulatory standards, providing public information on development regulations.
  • Engage in preparing and managing state and federal grants, special studies, data collection, research, and submitting required documentation and reports.
  • Create presentations, marketing collateral, and external communications.
  • Assist with file management and compliance for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG).
  • Compile socio-economic and demographic community data and produce pertinent reports.
  • Oversee and update the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) platform.
  • Conduct field evaluations and assessments as needed.
