Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Manager to direct and oversee planning and scheduling efforts across large-scale construction projects. This role demands leadership in managing a planning team and ensuring projects adhere to strategic timelines and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project planning team, providing clear strategic guidance on scheduling activities.
- Formulate, execute, and supervise comprehensive project planning methodologies and practices.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules that encompass design, procurement, construction, and finalization stages.
- Track project advancements and deliver precise progress predictions through thorough schedule evaluations and reports.
- Liaise with Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies regarding all planning and scheduling topics.
- Assess subcontractor schedules to identify delays, recommending appropriate remedial measures.
- Evaluate alternative scheduling and recovery plans to manage project alterations, market variances, and unexpected incidents.
- Oversee project baseline and contractual schedules to ensure consistency with contractual commitments.
- Assist in cost management, extensions of time claim processing, delay assessments, and monitoring overall project performance.
- Ensure all planning activities adhere to company policies, contractual demands, and relevant industry standards.
- Support health, safety, and environmental programs and promote safety awareness and incident documentation as per company protocols.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field.
- At least 8 years of pertinent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or supervisory planning position.
- Preferably minimum 2 years’ experience within GCC countries.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and expert knowledge of construction planning and scheduling.
- Comprehensive understanding of EPC, engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and project execution frameworks.
- Familiarity with cost control processes, extensions of time claims, and delay investigations.
- Knowledge of construction legalities and change management principles.
- Awareness of local and global construction norms and standards.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP, is an asset.
- Additional credentials such as MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or PMP certification are advantageous.

- Expertise in project planning methodologies.
- Advanced Primavera P6 scheduling skills.
- Strong capabilities in project controls and cost management.
