Role Overview

The Senior Network Architect will spearhead the design, deployment, and enhancement of network infrastructures that support large-scale Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) operation and maintenance contracts. This role demands ensuring ultra-high availability across sophisticated WAN and LAN systems, managing integrations among multiple vendors to sustain the region's expanding transportation network.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of complex ITS and enterprise-level network solutions prioritizing scalability, security, and performance across extensive road and tunnel networks.
• Perform detailed performance evaluations and capacity planning to maintain peak network functionality, adhering to tight SLA commitments that demand 99.999% uptime for mission-critical services.
• Manage the integration process of diverse network management systems such as Huawei e-Sight, NCE-T, and SolarWinds with unified asset management and alerting platforms like IBM Maximo and Mattermost.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and related project teams to ensure seamless coordination across contract boundaries, including managing access to tunnel network switches.
• Create and update comprehensive network topology maps, produce formal technical documentation and baseline surveys in professional English.
• Deploy software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation technologies, alongside designing and maintaining robust network security architectures including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, oversee vendor interactions, and develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to secure network operations.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bring over eight years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture, ideally within large ITS infrastructure and comprehensive operation & maintenance frameworks.
• Demonstrate deep proficiency with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS and advanced WAN technologies and performance optimization methods.
• Experience with network management and element management platforms including SolarWinds and Huawei ecosystems, as well as exposure to cloud networking services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in configuring network security components like firewalls and VPNs and strong capabilities in SDN and automation solutions.
• Exhibit excellent English communication skills, able to produce high-quality official correspondence and technical documentation and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management abilities to tackle complex implementation challenges and resolve interface issues that arise between different contract scopes.
• Professional certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalents are strongly preferred. Knowledge of national transportation authority network compliance standards and best practices is advantageous.
