Role Overview

As a Claims Consultant in the Retail Life division based in Gosford, New South Wales, you will manage a portfolio of Retail Income Protection claims. Your role is vital in delivering fair, timely, and empathetic service to customers during difficult times. This position also offers opportunities to gain experience in related Life Insurance claims such as Total and Permanent Disability, Trauma, and Terminal Illness.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete claims process with focus on proactive, customer-centered service.
• Evaluate medical, financial, and policy documentation to make informed claim decisions.
• Maintain transparent communication with customers and relevant stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Establish and nurture cooperative relationships with internal teams and external partners to optimize claim results.
• Ensure meticulous documentation and maintain organized claim files.
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives within claims handling.
• Support the professional development of claims administrators by enhancing their knowledge and skills.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in end-to-end assessment of retail income protection claims; related experience in workers' compensation or injury management is also valued.
• Good knowledge of life insurance products, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret complex medical, legal, and financial information for sound decision-making.
• Strong communication skills tailored to diverse audiences, both written and verbal.
• Capability to juggle multiple priorities accurately under pressure.
• Comfortable using claims management systems, digital tools, and documentation protocols.
• Motivated by continuous learning and improvement.
