Overview
Join Family Dollar as a Quality Assurance Tester and contribute to testing critical solutions integral to the company. This role suits individuals who enjoy problem-solving, teamwork, and engaging with diverse products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts derived from project documents including business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Validate data using tools such as SQL queries to ensure accuracy.
- Identify, track, and report defects, aligning them with different phases of the development life cycle.
- Collaborate closely with the Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE), project managers, and solution teams to uphold and enforce quality standards.
- Verify functional capabilities and performance stability metrics like response time for final products.
- Engage actively in defect triage meetings and provide valuable input.
- Maintain up-to-date QA status reports on a daily and weekly basis, including relevant metrics.
- Promptly communicate and escalate quality-related issues as necessary.
- Demonstrate openness to acquiring new skills related to evolving technologies, tools, and applications supporting the business.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software testing.
- Proficient in functional testing methods such as system acceptance and regression testing.
- At least one year of hands-on experience utilizing UiPath or equivalent RPA automated testing tools along with scripting languages like Playwright and Python.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and defect tracking software such as Zephyr or JIRA.
- Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills to interact professionally across teams.
- Experience with multiple testing life cycles including system, integration, user acceptance, and end-to-end testing.
- Understanding of various testing methodologies relevant to the software development life cycle.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Past experience in the retail industry domain.
- Advance skills in RPA automated testing tools, preferably UiPath.
- Proficient in scripting languages like Playwright and Python for automation.
- Familiarity working within Agile project environments.
- Experience testing applications hosted on IBM iSeries platforms.
