About the Role

Join Marina Bay Sands and elevate your passion by working alongside dedicated professionals to build a rewarding career. As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of guests at the pool facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor guests in the pool area to ensure their safety and respond immediately and appropriately to emergencies.
  • Administer emergency care and treatment until professional medical services arrive.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) when providing first aid to guests.
  • Complete and maintain detailed incident reports accurately.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude, delivering high standards of guest service at all times.
  • Keep the pool environment, including pool deck and turnstiles, clean and well-maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Pools & Recreation Management team and related departments to address guest requests promptly.
  • Understand and implement closure procedures during adverse weather conditions.
  • Be knowledgeable about all Pools & Recreation operations, including fire safety and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor activities in the SkyPark and report any suspicious individuals or actions to management.
  • Maintain close communication with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow and seamless guest experiences.
  • Stay informed about local community events and major happenings to provide guest recommendations enhancing their experience in Singapore and at Marina Bay Sands.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) guidelines and safety practices.
  • Follow department and organizational benchmarking standards.
  • Attend scheduled training sessions, departmental meetings, and daily briefings.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing reports as needed.
  • Contribute ideas to improve Pools & Recreation operations and assist in achieving departmental goals.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Secondary education preferred.
  • Possess Basic Lifesaving Certificate levels 1 to 3.
  • Holder of a Bronze Medallion certificate.
  • Experience in a hotel or resort environment is advantageous.
  • Flexible to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and public holidays.
  • Calm and effective response to emergency situations.
  • Proficient in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in CPR and emergency medical procedures.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Understanding of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good command of spoken and written English for communication and report writing.
  • Team player with initiative to support colleagues when needed.
  • Strong follow-through and a positive, proactive "Can Do" attitude.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
