About the Role
Tonkin + Taylor is seeking a Learning and Development Coordinator who will be central to delivering excellent learning experiences for employees across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific. This position goes beyond typical administrative duties by focusing on creating thoughtful, seamless, and effective learning journeys, supporting facilitators, learners, and stakeholders alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end coordination of learning initiatives, including communications, registrations, scheduling, resource allocation, venue arrangements, facilitation, evaluation, and follow-ups.
- Serve as a reliable first point of contact providing timely, considerate, and practical assistance to learners, managers, and facilitators.
- Assist L+D advisors and partners in developing and delivering engaging learning experiences by organizing structure, anticipating needs, and ensuring smooth implementation.
- Set up and verify the quality of courses, materials, and communications to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and engagement at every learner touchpoint.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facilitators, empowering them to deliver high-caliber learning sessions confidently.
- Maintain accurate learning records, track program metrics, and report on progress while proactively identifying and communicating risks.
- Identify and resolve learner and system-related issues efficiently, involving experts when specialist input is necessary.
- Gather feedback, recognize patterns, and use insights to streamline processes and enhance the overall learner experience.
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset, consistently refining programs, processes, and interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in coordination roles within learning and development, human resources, events, project support, customer service, or other people-focused sectors.
- Strong service orientation with genuine care for the end-user experience.
- Excellent organizational capabilities, attention to detail, and skill in managing multiple concurrent priorities without losing focus on people.
- Effective written communication skills with confidence engaging individuals at various levels within an organization.
- Proficiency with digital platforms, data handling, spreadsheets, and reporting, accompanied by eagerness to adopt new technologies.
- Sound judgment to know when to independently solve problems or request assistance, ensuring all parties remain informed.
- A collaborative work style and a personal commitment to helping colleagues and facilitators achieve success.
- Initiative and the ability to identify opportunities for simplification, enhancement, or refinement.
Experience using Learning Management Systems is advantageous but not essential; what matters most is a conscientious, curious, and high-standard approach focused on improving learning accessibility and quality.
Benefits
- Well-being support including an annual allowance, 24/7 nurse consultations, free flu vaccinations, fresh fruit delivery, and additional leave when needed.
- A commitment to inclusion and sustainability demonstrated through cultural capability training, accessible working environments, Gender Tick and Rainbow Tick accreditations, and a Net Zero Carbon initiative.
- Professional growth opportunities such as mentoring, leadership development, exposure to diverse experts and projects, access to professional memberships, and funded training aligned with personal development goals.
- Support during significant life events including primary carer salary top-ups for 26 weeks, paid partner leave up to 4 weeks, back-to-work coaching, and long-service leave.
