Position Overview

This role is for an Equipment Qualification Engineer based in Germany, focused on the advanced energy sector. The position offers the chance to contribute significantly to the creation and execution of key equipment qualification programs, assuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout equipment lifecycles.

Key Duties

  • Assist in designing and implementing equipment qualification initiatives from conception to final validation.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure design compliance with qualification requirements, including modifications.
  • Create, review, and maintain technical and licensing documents following regulatory and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Help define and execute equipment qualification strategies aligning with project and licensing goals.
  • Prepare and assess technical documentation such as test requirements, specifications, and regulatory evaluations.
  • Support regulatory liaison by reviewing communications, drafting responses, and contributing to licensing documentation.
  • Contribute to revisions of safety analysis reports and other technical filings.
  • Coordinate efforts among internal disciplines, external vendors, partners, and testing bodies.
  • Assess vendor testing activities to ensure qualification evidence fulfills project and regulatory standards.
  • Keep abreast of developments in industry practices, standards, and regulatory trends relevant to equipment qualification.

Candidate Profile

  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical education or experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in developing and managing equipment qualification programs.
  • Strong familiarity with ASME QME-1, OM Code, IEEE-344, and other relevant IEEE standards.
  • Experience in mechanical design within commercial nuclear power or comparably regulated sectors.
  • Knowledge of NEI 18-04, Regulatory Guide 1.233, and equipment environmental qualification guidelines.
  • Experience collaborating with vendor test facilities and qualification testing procedures.
  • Understanding of current trends and best practices in nuclear equipment qualification.
  • Proven capability to operate under strict quality assurance systems and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and aiding licensing efforts is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, and proficiency in managing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a cooperative, team-based mindset.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional software.
