Role Overview and Responsibilities
The IT Technician role is essential for ensuring continuous availability and optimal performance of IT infrastructure, devices, and software within the organization. Reporting to the IT & Business Systems Manager and collaborating with the leadership team, the technician supports user IT requirements by addressing requests efficiently and coordinating with various business partners.
- Provide timely and accurate IT support in partnership with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) and business stakeholders, resolving computer and application issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer images across multiple hardware platforms while maintaining an updated inventory, including vendor contracts for services and hardware replacements.
- Support a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ERP systems, engineering tools, and other critical business applications.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot application software, desktop operating systems, hardware devices, and peripherals.
- Manage and resolve tickets using a ticketing system in adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), following up proactively with users on issue status and progress.
- Escalate tickets to second-level support when necessary without compromising resolution timelines.
- Set up and manage audio-visual equipment for meeting rooms as needed.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the management team and offer flexible working hours when required.
