Hire Controller

Role Overview

We are seeking a Hire Controller to join our Customer Service team at Sunbelt Rentals in Exeter, UK. This role is crucial in managing customer relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery in our equipment rental business. As a Hire Controller, you will handle customer interactions via phone, email, and website requests, overseeing orders from inquiry through to post-hire feedback while maximizing upselling opportunities through product expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer orders and inquiries efficiently, from initial contact to completion and follow-up.
• Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and business operations.
• Use product knowledge to identify and promote suitable rental equipment, fostering upselling opportunities.
• Provide outstanding service experiences by adapting to customer requirements and handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and continuous process improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Proven background in customer service, particularly with inbound sales or order processing roles that require transaction completion and customer satisfaction.
• Experience in hire or construction industries is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills, including negotiation and relationship-building capabilities with both customers and colleagues.
• Ability to make informed decisions independently within company policies and pricing guidelines.
• Demonstrates effective teamwork with a supportive and collaborative mindset.
• Adaptable and responsive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, managing varied tasks and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Committed to continuous personal and operational improvement through proactive suggestions and actions.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications and eager to learn and utilize new software systems and technologies as part of the role.
