About the Role
Join Robertson Facilities Management as an Estimator based in Stirling, Scotland—a permanent full-time position with a relocation package available for the right candidate. As part of one of the UK's leading family-owned construction and support services groups, you will help deliver exceptional facilities management solutions with a focus on sustainability, collaboration, and superior service.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and client specifications to fully grasp requirements.
- Evaluate the scope for various service categories including hard services (such as Mechanical & Electrical, fabric maintenance), soft services (like cleaning, security, catering), or integrated total facilities management.
- Work alongside bid teams and senior management to design effective strategies and approaches for winning tenders.
- Calculate precise cost estimates using subcontractor quotations and internal labor rates.
- Incorporate lifecycle costs, projected annual savings, staffing models, and risk factors into estimates.
- Collect and analyze quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for specialized services ensuring alignment with tender expectations.
- Detail and determine labor requirements, shift schedules, and productivity assessments for service delivery.
- Collaborate with operational personnel to validate project assumptions and delivery frameworks.
- Ensure all tenders adhere to legal, health and safety, and environmental standards.
- Identify and quantify potential risks including inflation, TUPE regulations, and payment mechanisms.
- Partner with bid managers, business development teams, and technical experts to synchronize pricing strategies with tender submissions.
- Engage in bid reviews, pricing validation processes, and governance.
- Leverage historical bid data, industry benchmarks, and market trends to inform pricing decisions.
- Support bid presentations, participate in client meetings, and address post-submission clarification queries.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in a relevant Facilities Management discipline preferred, or at least two years' experience in a comparable role.
- Proven experience within the Facilities Management sector.
- Strong dedication to customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging at board level.
- Comprehensive knowledge and exceptional understanding of SFG20 standards.
