Department Manager

Role summary

This position is responsible for helping run a retail store to a high standard, with a strong focus on customer experience, sales growth, team support, and day-to-day operational control. The role supports the Store Manager in keeping the store aligned with company policies and procedures, while also taking full charge of the store when the Store Manager is unavailable.

What you will do

• Make sure customers receive consistently excellent service and that the store team is equipped to drive sales.
• Support the Store Manager in keeping the outlet efficient, well-run, and profitable according to company guidelines.
• Take full responsibility for the store whenever the Store Manager is away.
• Encourage customers to join the company loyalty scheme to improve repeat business and retention.
• Share observations and recommendations with the Store Manager and Area Manager about staff performance and product matters.
• Stay polished in appearance, fashion-aware, and current on product details to help reduce stock loss.
• Keep up with new launches, trends, and fashion direction so customer needs can be anticipated and addressed quickly.
• Ensure the store team is trained and supported to deliver top-tier service and improve sales performance.
• Help implement store operating procedures in line with company standards.
• Make sure all team members consistently follow brand rules, company policies, and operational procedures.
• Review store administration regularly and fix issues in a timely manner.
• Handle staff rosters, leave planning, and employee grievances on a daily basis.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards across the store at all times.
• Actively promote the Club Apparel loyalty programme to drive repeat purchases.
• Keep a close watch on store security and stay alert to prevent negligence or loss.
• Stay informed about the group’s different brands so product recommendations and suggestive selling can be done effectively.
• Be ready for extended standing and heavy lifting as part of the role’s physical demands.

Additional requirements

The role calls for someone who is presentable, trend-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail setting. Strong product awareness, attention to store standards, and the ability to manage staff operations are essential.

The job is based in Doha, Qatar and is offered as a full-time, on-site position.
