Role Overview
Join the Queensland Government as a Contract Manager to play a vital role in shaping procurement and contract strategies that serve both Queensland and global communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute substantially to the design, execution, and enhancement of procurement and contract management strategies, from organizational need assessments to process and system rollouts.
- Lead efforts in creating benchmarking and evaluation approaches and conduct routine contract performance assessments to ensure contractual commitments meet or exceed expectations.
- Provide management with comprehensive reports on contract performance, highlight arising issues or risks, and recommend remedial actions.
- Maintain operational responsibility for all contracts including sustaining the central contract register and liaising with contract authorities to verify compliance and thorough contract monitoring.
- Offer expert guidance on contract deliverables development and management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and standards.
- Foster strong partnerships via active representation of the Department of Primary Industries in forums, and by developing tools and standards tailored to stakeholder needs through education, consultation, and evaluation.
- Exemplify leadership by advancing procurement governance and contract performance improvements.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal abilities in communication, consultation, and negotiation within multidisciplinary environments to influence positive outcomes effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess Level 3 (Diploma) or Level 4 (Advanced Diploma) Procurement Certification in Government Procurement and Contracting.
- Demonstrate extensive expertise in procurement processes, contract management, administration, performance oversight, and Queensland Government public tendering procedures.
- Ability to contribute to strategic and operational planning through innovative problem-solving and a contemporary understanding of procurement technology and administration.
- Knowledge of change management principles applicable to development and facilitation.
- Strong communication skills with proven experience in stakeholder engagement within complex settings and influencing outcomes through logical, evidence-based persuasion.
- Proficient negotiation and facilitation skills including experience resolving commercial disputes.
- Track record of successfully delivering programs by applying project management practices, negotiation, and teamwork.
- Familiarity or aptitude to rapidly acquire thorough knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy, government regulations, and tendering rules.
- Commitment to promoting workplace equity, diversity, innovation, respect, and inclusion to enhance organizational culture.
- Exemplify leadership behaviours as expected of all staff members.
