Role Overview
This permanent, full-time position based at AUT City Campus involves comprehensive coordination of conferences and events. The coordinator will manage all stages including client communication, event scheduling, use of enterprise event management systems, catering and audiovisual coordination, logistics, and financial tasks such as reconciliation.
The work environment is fast-paced with multiple concurrent events and deadlines requiring excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to balance competing priorities. Close collaboration with the Conference & Events team, Commercial Services, Estates, and various Faculties and Professional Services is essential. Events include academic conferences, student programs, cultural celebrations, and external functions.
Your Profile
- Minimum four years of relevant experience in event coordination or a related field.
- Proven background in customer service with coordination of hospitality components.
- Strong multitasking abilities managing simultaneous events effectively with accountability.
- Collaborates well within large teams involving catering and audiovisual departments.
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business or a related discipline.
- Possesses a current clean New Zealand driver’s license.
- Committed to principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and supportive of AUT’s Te Aronui initiative.

Compensation and Application Details
- Salary range between $70,000 and $83,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Full-time role with 40 hours expected weekly.
