Role Summary
This position is located at NPS 12 Sheriffs Court, Coventry, CV1 3RY. Community Payback Supervisors play a vital role in supporting offenders on probation by supervising their unpaid work activities that contribute positively to the local community. The role involves overseeing groups performing tasks such as litter picking, graffiti removal, clearing overgrowth, and restoring community facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct supervision and leadership of offender work groups during community payback placements.
- Ensuring tasks are completed effectively and demonstrating proper work practices.
- Driving service vehicles to transport people or equipment when required. A full UK manual driving license is mandatory for this role; automatic-only licenses are not accepted.
- Working frequently on weekends and potentially some evenings to cover community payback projects which run seven days a week.
- Flexibly managing a fast-paced environment where breaks may be irregular, with emphasis on maintaining wellbeing.
Working Patterns & Pay
This part-time role typically involves up to 7 hours supervising a work group daily. Weekend work is regular, compensated with a 50% higher pay rate for weekend days worked. The starting salary for part-time appointments is £28,064 pro rata, with potential for annual increments through a Competency Based Framework based on performance. Pay bands are also adjusted annually in line with Civil Service guidelines.
