Civil Engineer

Overview

This role entails managing the upkeep, inspection, and repair of civil and structural components within facility environments, aiming to uphold safety, operational functionality, and asset durability. The position involves planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance initiatives while ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee entire lifecycle of fit-out projects from client briefing to final handover.
• Work closely with engineering teams to formulate and implement comprehensive fit-out strategies considering space optimization, regulations, and client needs.
• Evaluate current building conditions including structural and MEP systems to assess feasibility and identify potential obstacles.
• Generate detailed construction, specification, and shop drawings utilizing BIM software where applicable.
• Supervise subcontractor activities ensuring plan, budget, and schedule compliance.
• Perform routine site inspections to track progress, address quality defects, and uphold safety standards.
• Manage budgets and timelines proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members and collaborate effectively across functions.
• Stay updated on industry trends including sustainable building methods and materials.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years in a senior engineering capacity within the fit-out construction sector.

Technical Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of civil maintenance practices including structural repairs and finishing.
• Comprehensive understanding of building construction materials and structural frameworks.
• Capability to evaluate defects and propose effective repair strategies.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance planning tools.
• Awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Proven skills in project coordination and contractor oversight.
