Casino Porter - Full Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a lively and guest-focused Casino Porter to join our team, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the casino and its public areas to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. The ideal candidate should be cooperative, adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess strong communication and interpersonal abilities. This position supports a safe and friendly workplace and upholds all company policies and procedures. Above all, the candidate must align with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture of delivering remarkable entertainment experiences.

Primary Duties

• Perform general and specialized cleaning tasks across all casino spaces, including gaming floors, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.
• Handle heavy lifting and operate various heavy cleaning equipment.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and operate machinery such as burnishers, buffers, and carpet extractors.
• Ensure exceptional service as this role requires frequent guest interaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of washrooms in public and staff areas.
• Approach work with enthusiasm and balance professionalism with a playful spirit.
• Focus on each day to provide an outstanding entertainment experience for all guests and colleagues.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, ownership, staff, vendors, and regulators.
• Comply with licensing, health and safety, and other relevant statutory regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Embrace the Casino Nova Scotia culture with a lively and guest-centered attitude.
• Eligibility to be certified by the Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming Division.
• Consistent attendance record.
• Experience with industrial cleaning machinery is required.
• Ability to work backshift hours.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and WHMIS is advantageous.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize work with effective time management.
• Team-oriented with excellent guest service skills.

Work Environment

• Prolonged standing and walking, along with lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, and bending.
• Requires flexibility in scheduling.
