Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Cable Material Handler to join our team at the Letterkenny site. This role is crucial in maintaining efficient production by ensuring seamless movement, storage, and management of cable and electrical materials throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee ongoing production activities to maintain uninterrupted supply of raw materials such as cables and electrical components to the production floor.
- Ensure timely delivery of cables to Fabrication and Production Stores.
- Handle, receive, log, store, identify, and distribute cables and electrical materials accurately and safely.
- Report any damage or shortages detected upon delivery prior to unloading.
- Maintain proper storage practices with correct labeling and organization, guaranteeing complete traceability of materials moving in and out of each area.
- Keep the working environment clean, organized, and safe.
- Facilitate prompt distribution of materials among stores, production, fabrication, and assembly teams.
- Mentor less experienced team members and escalate any identified training needs.
- Support VOS (Vertiv Operating System) principles and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Strictly comply with Health & Safety standards, security protocols, risk assessments, and COSHH regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings.
- Familiarity with handling cables, electrical components, or materials in industrial or electrical manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of cable types, identification methods, storage procedures, and best practices in material handling.
- Mandatory possession of a Counterbalance Forklift license.
- Knowledgeable in workshop equipment, operational methods, and safety procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while also contributing constructively within a team.
- Positive, well-organized, and motivated with commitment to high quality and customer service standards.
- Clean disciplinary record.
