AWS Terraform Engineer

Overview

Join Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. as an AWS Terraform Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS services. This role emphasizes building secure, scalable, automated, and compliant cloud environments within enterprise settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modular, reusable Terraform code for AWS infrastructure provisioning.
• Manage Terraform modules, state files, including remote state via S3 and DynamoDB locking.
• Adhere to Infrastructure as Code best practices: version control, peer reviews, automated deployments.
• Design and deploy a variety of AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, and EKS to create secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant environments.
• Plan and implement multi-account and multi-region AWS architectures supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts.
• Integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments.
• Promote DevOps, GitOps, and DevSecOps methodologies across environments.
• Create and maintain automation scripts in Python or Bash for configuration management and deployment tasks.
• Ensure security and compliance by implementing IAM policies, encryption (KMS), network security (VPCs, Security Groups, NACLs), and embedding security scanning in deployment pipelines.
• Support audit, governance, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity procedures.
• Set up monitoring and observability solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana to optimize performance, scalability, and cost.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Extensive experience in architecting and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Thorough knowledge of core AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, and EKS.
• Experience integrating Terraform deployments into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong foundation in DevOps practices and cloud automation techniques.
• Proficient scripting skills in Python or Bash.
• Experience in managing large-scale cloud environments.

Desirable Skills and Certifications

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps implementation.
• Knowledge of Ansible configuration management.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional), AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
