Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Warehouse Specialist to oversee the daily functions of our warehouse operations at our facility in the Weija-Gbawe Municipal District, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The role entails managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and dispatch of materials with a focus on accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities including incoming and outgoing goods management.
- Confirm accuracy of quantities, specifications, and quality for materials received and dispatched.
- Maintain precise inventory records and ensure timely updates to ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
- Carry out systematic stock evaluations through cycle counts and comprehensive annual audits.
- Ensure proper organization and clear labeling of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
- Supervise the processes of loading and unloading to guarantee safe handling of materials.
- Implement FIFO and FEFO principles to manage inventory turnover effectively.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are supplied without delay.
- Investigate and document any variances or discrepancies found in inventory levels.
- Maintain and promote 5S workplace standards within the warehouse environment.
- Follow all safety and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations relevant to warehouse operations.
- Prepare and submit detailed inventory and warehouse reporting and documentation as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a secondary school certificate, diploma, or higher qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience in warehouse or logistics roles, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of warehouse management workflows and inventory control systems.
- Experience working with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems; familiarity with SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
- Good working knowledge of inventory management techniques such as FIFO and FEFO.
- Strong skills in data entry, record maintenance, and analytical thinking.
- Awareness and adherence to warehouse safety standards and HSE protocols.
- Highly attentive to details with a strong sense of accountability and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication abilities and proven teamwork skills.
- Capability to perform physical tasks typically associated with warehouse and manufacturing environments.
