QC Specialist

About the Role

Join our analytical laboratories team in Singapore as a Quality Control Specialist, where you will perform and oversee essential quality control testing. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine analytical and biochemical tests on raw materials, processes, utilities/environmental samples, and finished goods using validated methods and laboratory equipment.
• Review and approve test outcomes, guaranteeing accuracy and prompt result availability to support release decisions, while complying with corporate, regulatory, and external agency standards.
• Assist in investigations related to deviations, out-of-specification results, and environmental incidents, facilitating corrective action implementation.
• Participate in method and equipment validation, revalidation, and qualification activities, ensuring thorough execution and documentation.
• Create and maintain laboratory documentation, including quality and safety standard operating procedures, test protocols, and technical reports.
• Train and mentor colleagues on analytical methods, instrumentation, and data integrity standards to strengthen team expertise.
• Support laboratory initiatives such as Tiers, Gemba, DMAIC, 5S practices, and data reviews.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field, or a Diploma with comparable relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience within a regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environment.
• Hands-on experience with analytical and biochemical quality control techniques.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and laboratory quality management systems.
• Competency in record-keeping, report preparation, and preliminary investigation of issues.
• Proven problem-solving abilities, including timely issue identification, reporting, resolution or escalation, and corrective measure implementation.
• Good communication skills, teamwork capability, and effective organization of laboratory workflows.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in shift patterns, including weekends when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with method validation, equipment qualification, and computer system validation.
• Practical knowledge of assays like chromatography and ELISA.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis, investigations, and CAPA implementation.
• Understanding of data integrity principles and electronic laboratory systems.
• Basic skills in applying statistical tools or data analytics for laboratory data evaluation.
• Experience supporting audits or serving as a technical subject matter expert.
