About the Role
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our Northland team in Whangarei. This dynamic position involves working collaboratively with operational and business leaders to support comprehensive financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical review across the organisation. The role is hands-on with a strong focus on leveraging financial data to provide valuable insights that enhance decision-making and uphold the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, empowering the individual with ownership and genuine impact within the business. The candidate will thrive in a supportive team environment committed to high standards and meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly account processes including reconciliations, profit and loss reviews, and preparation of management reports.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to develop budgets, forecasts, project evaluations, and support commercial decision-making.
- Deliver in-depth financial analysis and actionable insights to help teams improve their performance metrics.
- Provide assistance with compliance, audit activities, capital expenditure reporting, and oversee controls related to Accounts Payable.
- Offer broad finance support across the region, including acting as a deputy for the Finance Manager when necessary.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification and hold CA or CPA accreditation.
- Demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise, including a solid grasp of accounting standards, relevant legislation, and established best practices.
- Have proven experience in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and detailed financial analysis.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify financial concepts for audiences without financial backgrounds.
- Maintain a proactive, responsible, and collaborative work style, showing sound judgement and a dedication to safety, quality, and high-standard work.
