Job Overview
We are seeking a Machinist Level 2 to be based in Joo Koon, Singapore. The role involves setting up and managing CNC machines to produce aerospace components adhering to strict engineering and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, operate, and optimize CNC machinery for the fabrication of precise aerospace parts following engineering blueprints and production needs.
- Analyze technical drawings and process documentation to determine appropriate machining methods, required tooling, and dimensional specifications.
- Conduct machine setups, tool replacements, and adjust offsets, performing routine maintenance to ensure consistent and accurate output.
- Supervise machining operations, applying necessary process tweaks to keep quality standards, dimensional accuracy, and production times intact.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections using specialized measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Identify and resolve machining, tooling, and quality challenges in collaboration with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and company policies throughout operations.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization following 5S methodologies to promote a secure and orderly environment.
- Participate in and support initiatives aimed at boosting productivity, improving quality, reducing setup times, and eliminating waste.
- Accurately document production activities, inspection data, and other essential records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of NITEC/Higher NITEC, technical certification, or equivalent in Precision Engineering, Machining Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven practical experience operating CNC machines, specifically CNC turning and milling.
- Knowledgeable in G-code programming and machine setup processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and technical documentation.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Strong troubleshooting capability addressing machining and tooling issues.
- Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing or similarly high-precision industries preferred.
- Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently while also collaborating well within team settings.
- Effective communication skills paired with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Willingness to work shift patterns and overtime as necessary.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience operating Fanuc CNC machines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, 5S practices, and continuous improvement processes.
- Experience working with tight tolerance and complex precision components.
- Basic understanding of aerospace quality management systems and compliance requirements.
